Seems like these gigantic things are part of the journey north experience, and this one was actually quite cool.

After the mandatory photo, I found a small local coffee bar. As I dismounted, a guy came over and asked where in Texas I was coming from, after looking at the Texas 2 Alaska writing on the BeMWu. When I said Houston, we both laughed at the coincidence, and then he said: “Ah, Houston, Texas. I love it, when I get there I can already smell the tequila from Mexico. By the way, watch out for the deer. We have a local Evil Knivel, and while pulling a wheelie, he split a deer. It was still great, but not as breath taking. A few hundred kilometers later, I met a European couple riding a Moto Guzzi. Christine, a British lady, and her husband, a Danish guy, are traveling through North America for a while. We had a great chat, and then said our good byes. It was just a charming experience. To cap the day off, I later stopped at the visitors center in Queznel, where the ladies running the place proved, once again, that British Columbia has some of the warmest, kindest people I have known.

My initial goal for today was to reach Williams Lake, but possibly push a bit more forward to be closer to Seattle tomorrow. However, as I entered the valley the sky suddenly turned to pewter. That sealed the deal.
