27 flags for 27 million<\/p><\/div>\n

With two days to go before my departure on September 4th, I must confess I find myself a bit nervous. \u00a0Like most other endeavours, there just seems like there are t\u2019s still to be crossed. \u00a0I am just trying to get it all done by tomorrow evening. \u00a0I have all my stop and sleeping places confirmed, the bike has been serviced, and I have completed the customizations and wiring I was planning to to. \u00a0However, I have yet to do a test run on my camping stove, prep the mess kit for cooking, and, practice the one skill I really pray I will not have to use, plugging a flat tire.<\/p>\n

As you may realize, motorcycles do not carry spare tires, so if you get a flat on the road, you have to plug it on the spot. \u00a0To make things a bit more complicated, it is not considered safe to ride with a plugged tire for a long time, and should only be done until one can get to a place where it can be replaced. \u00a0I have never had to do this, and my prayer is that it does not happen during this trip.
\nThe part that actually excites me a lot is this project I dreamed of just last week; 27 flags for 27 million. \u00a0This basic idea is to plant 27 orange flags inscribed with scriptural references exhorting readers to join the abolition movement, and with directions to the NotForSale campaign site. \u00a0\u00a0Thankfully, the young members of the City of Refuge Church<\/a> social justice small group backed me up fully on this idea, and as we gathered for bible study on Monday, we put together the 27 flags.
\nSo, along the way, I will plant the 27 flags, about 2 every day, calling attention to the plight of the world\u2019s 27 million slaves. \u00a0I will post coordinates along with my blog entries every day.
