\"\"<\/a>With 11 days before departure, life has become hectic. \u00a0This has been a tremendously busy week at work. \u00a0Yet, in the midst of it all, God has provided me with the focus and calm to see things through. \u00a0You may ask how this has happened. \u00a0I can only say that knowing that He has asked me to focus on His children brings a different perspective to my life.<\/p>\n

I have been prepping my motorcycle for the long journey that lies ahead. \u00a0I have replaced tires, added hand protectors, and a new shift pedal. \u00a0I have gotten my gel pad for the seat, along with the tent, an air mattress and my stove. \u00a0I have refinished my steel panniers now, making them white, and Adelina has wonderfully painted on them one of the guiding scripture verses of this journey, Isaiah 61. \u00a0By the way, we both had a very hard time getting the spelling right, since in Spanish it sounds so very different.<\/p>\n

She also created a wonderful design based on my new logo, which you shall see soon. \u00a0It is centered around “Abolition, Now” , in a setting where you will also be able to read it as “Abolition Won”.<\/p>\n

Early tomorrow morning I will drop the motorcycle at a dealership in west Houston to have them run a last set of inspections. \u00a0This is supposed to be a young bike, with a mere 20,000 miles on the clock, but I will feel more secure once an expert gives it a full review. \u00a0I do confess that I do this with some trepidation, since I do not want to hear any bad news with so few days ahead before departure, but knowing now is definitely much better than finding out in the middle of the journey.<\/p>\n

It is interesting for me the way I notice myself trying to prepare for this enterprise. \u00a0Figuring out when and where to sleep. \u00a0Trying to devise the best routes and resting places, and trying to line up all the proper supplies for the journey. \u00a0In many ways, this seems like a microcosm of the ways in which I try to live my life, and yet, in the end, it is all going to be by His Mercies, and His plan. \u00a0My only wish is that this will make a difference in the life of those being held in bondage.<\/p>\n
