Journeys may have several components. \u00a0For some, journeys may be physical, but for others, they may be spiritual, or emotional. \u00a0Dealing with the physical aspects is probably the easiest part. \u00a0At least for me it is, so I am getting started with that. \u00a0I will leave the more difficult aspects for later. \u00a0I do this with some level of misgiving, since I know that the physical journey needs to be framed in the spiritual, and, for me, the ethical and moral, aspects, to make sense.<\/p>\n
I also do not have the illusion of being able to finish this first part today. \u00a0None the less, it is important to get started. \u00a0So here we go.<\/p>\n
This particular journey will officially get started on September 7, 2010. \u00a0On that day I will leave Houston on my motorcycle, hoping to make it to he Mojave-Death Valley area five days later. \u00a0It should be a fairly quick affair to get there. \u00a0After all, the distance between Houston and California could be covered by any competent rider in two or three days. \u00a0However, I am not interested in journeys that only have the covering of a certain distance as an objective. \u00a0As a photographer, a writer, and an abolitionist at heart, I need to experience the landscape, and the people, while I also take time to document the process, experience God’s voice, and look for opportunities to engage others, and share with them information about human trafficking, and modern day slavery.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
